Talking about flat screens, where can I find the specifications for the digital flat
panel connector?

| i don't think this is too OT (LCD mons)
| but i did delete the recent posts, sorry
|
| so what is (or rather what was said about) the coolest largest LCD mon
| du jour?
| and are you using analog or digital interface?
|
| also what is the MTBF on the backlight?
| is it comparable to a CRT?
| those CCFT's don't like a lot of power cycles so screen blanking may not
| help all that much

|
| You can say that about any technology:

Brian,

There are two common connectors I believe but the most common seems to be
the DVI connector. You can get the details from the Molex (and other) web
sities.

DVI connectors can include single channel or dual channel support and
include the analog RGB pins as well (optionally).

That's great, but I was referring to the signal drive levels. How to RX TX a DVI
compliant bus.

Silicon Image were one of the first in this space (with their PanelLink
stuff). They have quite a few app notes and the datasheets are useful as
well. I am not sure but I think that major parts of the electrical parts
of the DVI spec are a standardised version of their work.

We found their stuff helpful - but we were using a couple of their devices
so I can't really say how helpful it is if you are doing a roll-your-own or
using some other manufacturers parts.

www.siliconimage.com - pain of a site - whizzy bits at the beginning and
then takes an age to load the real home page even on DSL.
