Since you didn't include a sample of the file, I have to guess.
I'm taking a guess that it is an RS-274X file, the old Gerber
format was RS-274D. If it is somewhat human readable,
with a bunch of lines near the beginning that start with
%ADD

and then the familiar X1234Y1234
etc. then I think it is definitely RS-274X. Most board shops
should have no trouble with this file.

Re: [PEDA] GBX Gerber

2002-06-27 Thread Brad Velander

Terry,
have you tried reading it in as RS274X format or drill? My thought
was that it was .GB(Gerber)X(RS274X) possibly by the extension. Or, thinking
further, is it actually excellon format drill and should be read in as drill
info? Maybe the GBX extension is just a little misleading.
Could you post a segment/section from the start of the file just
copied as text? Then if anybody recognises the format they can help you.

Sincerely,
Brad Velander.

Subject: [PEDA] GBX Gerber

Hi All,
Recently a customer has supplied me with a GBX type of Gerber file
for me to read in the hole information. Does anyone know how to open this
puppy? I've emailed the fella asking for another format, but I'm curious.
Camtastic just freezes when I go to open it.

Cheers
