Re: [PEDA] Outlook for DXP (:

2002-04-11 Thread JaMi Smith

Did they wait until 99 SE was ready to release it?

Did they wait until 99 was ready to release it?

Did they wait until 98 was ready to release it?

Why change now.

Realistically, it will almost surely be released prior to October 1st,
whether it is ready or not, so as to comply with the "promises" made to
all those who bought into ATS, so that they will sign up for yet another
year.

Cynical? Who me? Just a realist.

Isn't the real reason that it's release will be later than first
announced the fact that it clearly isn't ready yet!

I'm sure that they'll release it as soon as it's ready (or more likely,
three weeks earlier!!!)

Till later,
Scott.

This from the Australian stock exchange today

This revised estimate is made following the cautious economic
climate seen in Q3, which is expected to continue into Q4. A
revised release date for Altium's new Protel DXP product,
originally announced for a Q1 release but now scheduled for
July 2002, has also contributed to the modified revenue estimate.

2002-04-11 Thread JaMi Smith

To give credit where credit is due, the "undocumented feature" dates
back far beyond Microsoft and Bill Gates to at least the early days of
IBM.

I know that it was applied by IBM to some of the early EBCIDIC character
sets and some of the bizarre "alternates" (odd characters that differed
by application).

It may have other earlier applications.

Here in the land of Microsoft, we call it Vaporware.

Not to be confused with bugs, which are called "Undocumented
Features"
