Re: [PEDA] Question about track placement

2002-09-26 Thread Thomas

Use the select connected copper process to select the whole track.
Then do a global edit, with selection = same to change all selected tracks
to the net required.

Subject: [PEDA] Question about track placement

 Hi everybody,
I have a question about the tracks in PROTEL.

Suppose I have a track that runs in a zig-zag manner and is
 quite long.

Now what do I do to assign this track to a net?

When I click on the track only a segment is selected.
And then in the properties of that track segment I can assign
 a net to it.

But then do I have to do this for each and every segment of
that long track. I think there is a better way of doing what
 I want to do.

 I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions,
 please do reply,

 thanks and regards,
 Anand Kulkarni

First deselect everything: Use the keys X A
Then, select all of the zigzag trace. One way is to chose
Edit-Select-ConnectedCopper.( E S P ) and click on one section of it.
The whole thing will turn white. Once it is all selected, edit one
segment, assign the net name, click Global, and under Attributes To
Match By change the Selection to Same and press OK

That's it.

Re: [PEDA] Question about track placement

2002-09-26 Thread Dennis Saputelli

nah
it's easier i think assuming it lands on a pad or something w/ the right
net

just do as below
then cut it (with a good ref point) and paste it back
the whole thing will acquire the net of the pad it lands on

or paste on something w/ the right net to pick the net up and then move
selection
out into the air if you want
