What kind of mirroring are you actually talking about? horizontal or vertical?
And how are you creating your PCB footprint? should be with pin 1 (of say a DIP) in the upper left hand corner Then when you place the footprint on the top layer of your board pin 1 will again be in the upper left hand corner. If you place it on the bottom layer of the board then pin 1 will now be on the upper right hand corner. If pin 1 is ever in a lowre corner then you have rotated the component before placing it.
