To change a file association in WIN98SE the "easy" way -
1. Highlight the file with the extension of interest by left clicking on it
once.
2. Hold down the shift key while right clicking on the file.
3. The drop down menu will now have the choice "open with" added to it -
right click on "open with".
4. The scroll menu that pops up will have the check box for "always use
this program to open this type of file".
5. Check the 'always use...' box, and open the file with your choice of
program from the list shown in the scroll box.
Your default program for the selected type of file is now changed to the
selection made in step 5.
If the above needs rephrasing to make sense, please let me know.
