OH!SAMA--Fear Time

How convenient. Election time they renew images of Osama Bin Laden and his
desire to kill Americans. The real fear: if we allow the present trend to
continue, we will need some country to invade us and topple our dictator.
November 7th---it is your opportunity to throw the Bushco followers out.

Iraq and Your Wallet (by Nicholas D. Kristof)

For every additional second we stay in Iraq, we taxpayers will end up paying
an additional $6,300.

So aside from the rising body counts and all the other good reasons to adopt a
timetable for withdrawal from Iraq, here’s another: We are spending vast sums
there that would be better spent rescuing the American health care system,
developing alternative forms of energy and making a serious effort to reduce
global poverty.

'Stability First': Newspeak for rape of Iraq (by Pepe Escobar)

"Stay the course also means don't leave before the job is done. And that's
... we're going to get the job done in Iraq. And it's important that we do get
the job done in Iraq." - George W Bush, October 11

Iraq is not simply a US electoral issue. It's a human tragedy of biblical
proportions. Hence the urge at this point to situate the tragedy in a
historical context.
