One of our internal projects that brings in
https://github.com/google/protobuf as a submodule started finding missing
commits from the repository:

https://github.com/google/protobuf/tree/fde7cf7358ec7cd69e8db9be4f1fa6a5c431386a

Similarly, looking at the grpc project, the protocol buffers commits from
the past couple of releases can't be found - head of the repository is
pointing at:

https://github.com/google/protobuf/tree/436bd7880e458532901c58f4d9d1ea23fa7edd52

previous release was pointing at:

https://github.com/google/protobuf/tree/d7e943b8d2bc444a8c770644e73d090b486f8b37

Is there something happening with the protocol buffers repository?
