So, the google maven-protoc plugin has been retired in favour of dtrott one. I had a look at dtrott plugin and it seems to me unnecessary convoluted. Additionally it runs under the BSD license, which is not very Enterprise Friendly. I created my own, which is just a wrapper around protoc and
