[Prototype-core] Re: Timeline for supporting native array methods?

2008-04-17 Thread Tobie Langel

Hi Jeff,

Sorry for the late response, we're in the middle of a triple move
here:

Changing versioning system (svn to git), bug report system (Trac to
Lighthouse), and documentation system (external to inline)...

Both these issues would be better adressed with relevant bug reports.

Best place to do so is in our bug tracking system system:
http://prototype.lighthouseapp.com/

Thanks for your help,

Tobie

Is there any timeline for when Prototype will cease replacing the
native implementations of map, filter, etc?

I had thought this change was part of 1.6, but unless I'm misreading
the source, 1.6.0.2 still overwrites the native implementations.

Additionally, has anyone looked at why prototype's Array#map method
doesn't work on NodeLists returned from Safari's querySelectorAll
 method?

[Prototype-core] Intellisense for Visual Studio 2008

2008-04-17 Thread skaue

Hi guys

I'm sure this has been asked before (tho I didn't find a Q in this
list through search).

Is there anything that can be done with prototype.js to let it work
with intellisense in Visual Studio 2008?

Not sure about VS, but latest NetBeans (Riby package) supports
prototype quite nicely.

[Prototype-core] JDD - my github fork for patches

2008-04-17 Thread John-David Dalton

I have started moving over some of the patched from trac to my github
fork:
http://github.com/jdalton/prototype/commits/master

Please let me know if something should be dropped, altered or modified
in anyway.
I am currently sending pull requests to Tobie only, should I be
sending them to others as well?

So Scripty doesn't feel left out I will send a couple patches it's way
too :)
http://github.com/jdalton/scriptaculous/commits/master (At the time of
writing I have not pushed anything to my scripty fork)

I don't know if you all can pick n' choose the commits to apply or if
it cascades all the previous commits when you accept a push.

[Prototype-core] Re: Timeline for supporting native array methods?

2008-04-17 Thread Jeff Watkins

Tobie, thanks or the response. I'd figured these were both well known
issues, so I didn't even bother to check the bug database. I'll file
both shortly since they're busting demos of our new library when
running against Prototype (instead of Dojo).

[Prototype-core] Re: Intellisense for Visual Studio 2008

2008-04-17 Thread Gareth Evans
HI Tommy

This is probably the wrong list for this (use spinoffs), but VS2008
Intellisense doesn't support Prototype currently.
It supports JQuery by way of a hot fix, Ext via a workaround.
Microsoft have fixed prototype intellisense (to get the function
descriptions etc you still need a specially commented file but the format is
well documented), but they haven't released a hot fix.
They indicated that it would be fixed in the next service pack (which isn't
out with)
This info came from one of the Microsoft blogs but I cant seem to find the
link.
