With 1.6.0.3 and the addition of W3C Selectors API support via querySelector and querySelectorAll, Prototype is simply fantastic when paired with a WebKit Browser such as Safari or Chrome. In fact, I did some testing with 1.6.0.3 through the Slickspeed test: http://mootools.net/slickspeed/
and found that not only does Prototype make up the speed gap, it crushes it, becoming the fastest library in this test. To give you some hard numbers: WebKit Browser (Google Chrome, Safari displays similar gains) 1.6.0.2 195ms 1.6.0.3 19ms The only downside is when you revert back to xpath as in IE and Firefox, the total times becomes more even: xpath 1.6.0.2 ~180 jQuery ~120 Dojo ~80 Anyway, I just found that interesting, and to give kudos to the Prototype team for taking advantage of great tech, even though it may not be very standardized yet. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Prototype & script.aculo.us" group.
