Thank you for the response, I'm one of those leech users out there who
has become dependent on all your hard work. I learned javascript
through prototype.js ( a lil backwards maybe... )

There's a big project going on right now to port the old docs into the
new format (which is inline with the source code, and so will
hopefully stay more up-to-date). Most of the examples will get
restored as part of that process. Compare for instance the Array docs
(which have been ported) vs. the Element docs (which largely have
not).
