FWIW, my impression is that the core team is very happy to look at
patches improving the new documentation stuff. Even concrete
suggestions (a tweaked stylesheet, for instance) would probably be
useful...

I like both versions. But I think the new API can be much faster when
you want to find specific informations. Apart from that the new API is
up-to-date. (For example: http://api.prototypejs.org/dom/element/on/)
