Re: [psas-avionics] Weird USB connection with Crescent GPS

2012-05-02 Thread Dave Camarillo
It's up to the kernel to choose a driver for a given VID/PID/device
class... Is support compiled into the kernel? Are you certain it shows
up as a serial device on other linux hosts?

Sounds like the USB is enumerating fine, so the zero device is working.
does lsusb -v report any additional devices? A serial device typically has
a control, in, and out endpoint and is of a device class that is obviously
serial communications.

[psas-avionics] Weird USB connection with Crescent GPS

2012-05-02 Thread Andrew Greenberg
Hi!

Our GPS board, the Crescent SX-2, supposedly has a USB port. But when I
hook it up, I get the following from dmesg:

[367516.376071] usb 4-1: new full speed USB device number 28 using uhci_hcd
[367516.542127] usb 4-1: New USB device found, idVendor=1735, idProduct=0001
[367516.542137] usb 4-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2,
SerialNumber=3
[367516.542145] usb 4-1: Product: SX2
[367516.542150] usb 4-1: Manufacturer: SATLOC
[367516.542155] usb 4-1: SerialNumber: 0x0007B644

... but no ttUSBs or ttyACMs show up.

Any ideas?

Andrew
