I assume that if i have the mouse and VO curser routed to each other
by default in VO settings i can skip that step in your guide? I
suppose thats my cue to go order a magic trackpad for the iMac.

route mouse to VO cursor.
Steve, I never tether the mouse pointer to the VO cursor because I've found
that voiceOver can misrepresent things in that mode. For example, VoiceOver
tends to skip over menu items when
I forgot about the solo dim question. I'm not familiar with any such facility
in Pro Tools although it sounds vaguely possible. Digital Performer used to
have this feature (and still does, of course). I've never seen it in Pro Tools
but maybe only because I haven't seen it in version 9.
