Hello and thanks for all the tips and suggestions on getting started with Pro
tools. My course of action now will be that i will download the understanding
pro tools videos and see if i can make sense of them, If i can, i hope i'll be
off the ground and if not, i'll probably be back plaguing

My issue is, I have drum triggers down stairs. My studio is upstairs. I can
record onto my Macbook, but I'm still on PT 8.04 so I would need to haul my
003 down as well. I'd like some software on my Macbook with which I can record
MIDI without having to haul my interface down as well.

So, I'm confused. How would exporting MIDI from Garage Band help you
in this instance? You could just unhook everything, and USB in
downstairs, carrying just the MacBook?
