the import checkbox for as31 is checked, it won't add the .wav file I
am trying to import without "converting" which is what I was trying to

Well, I seem to be unable to record a file that conforms to that
format, no parameter in the recording properties says anything about
s31, so I have no idea as to what the conversion would do to the
file. I read the article, but still no idea as to what would change.
