Apparently, you power on the bcf by locating the fifth button from the
top left, holding it down while pressing the on button. This should put
it into hui mode. Unfortunately, I don't think the bcf works with plugin

HUI does indeed support plug-in control. Since the release of the original
Mackie HUI, plug-in parameters are mapped automatically, at least with Pro
Tools.

Yeah, same experience here, although they're no longer being
manufactured and I doubt there'll be any further driver updates.
Still, for the price of one second hand, they're a neat tool to have
at your disposal.

Oh, and it turns out that the M-Audio oxygen keyboards work with ProTools in
terms of controling track volume and pan and transport, plus virtual instrument
controls, but not audio plugin controls. So our options really are limited. I

Thanks for all the help. I think I’m going to try using my BCF2000 with
ProTools for track/sends volume and pan, and maybe transport controls. If I
need to change a plugin, I’ll use Reaper for that. Reaper has many more
advantages over ProTools when it comes to plugins; for a start, they allow
If i am not mistaken if the surface had HUI support it should be able to
control plugins as well? I need to see what’s going on with RWP as i haven’t
been getting those messages as of late.

Okay, thanks Matt. What about the M audio oxygen keyboards? Apparently they
also have the ability to control plug-ins. I haven't done much research on this
yet, I am out at the moment, But this seemed to be very affordable. I do not
need motorised faders. Just the ability to control things
An there in lies the reason i switched to reaper and don’t really use Pro Tolls
all that much anymore. I have an Allen Heath ZED R16 and It didn’t have HUI
support at the time So to Reaper i Went. Also having access to AU and VST plugs
without a wrapper is nice as well.

As it goes, I have me an Alpha track here that I've hardly ever used. No
box or anything, but the unit works perfectly if anyone's interested in
buying it.

+1 on the Alphatrack, they're wicked little units.

Presonus Faderport is what I use and also John Gunn from this list. John's wife
has assisted us with a little description and we have, of course, the manuals.
The faderport can be purchased for less than US$200. It has one fader - it is
motorized. it has Pan and all of the transport controls.
I truly do not know have not tried. Fact is I haven't used it that much I am
getting ready to. Eat Q is not something I'm going to be doing with the control
surface.

Thanks for that Ricky. I’ve had a look on the Internet. I assume that you can’t
control plugin parameters with this? It seems as if this is the case for
surfaces that run in HUI mode. Does the Faderport allow you to change EQ
settings for instance, or is it just track volume and pan?
Thanks.
Alas you can not. Perhaps if the plugin parameters could be controlled by midi
values then plugins might be controllable - I don’t know. I have a Beringer
BCF2000 which I think works with ProTools under the HUI mode. I think this also
allows me to control send faders as well as track and
I have an artist mix, and honestly I have no idea why they cost so much... No
transport, no jog wheel... Wish I'd brought something a little cheaper to be
honest.

Hi everyone. Well, I’ve been steadily getting the hang of ProTools, so much so
that I haven’t had to post a single question to the list this year. I may even
be getting to the stage where I can help answer a few people’s questions.
Yesterday I needed to do some automation, for which I really
