1. Is the track you're wanting to edit selected? and
2. Is the edit and timeline selection linked as well as edit selection

If so, pressing down arrow for the start point and up arro
Did you rewind the track a bit to see if the data was deleted? Because if it's
jumping to the end point of the selection, something tells me it's doing the
job. If a track is not properly selected and you hit delete, you'll stay in the
same place.

Ok, I don't know if I changed a setting, but when I select a track to delete a
section and use the arrow down to start the selection and then up to end the
selection, and hit delete, the only thing that happens is my curser moves to
the end point where I arrowed up instead of selecting that sect
