Hi ALl, I've had my TC Helicon Voice Live 2 for ages, and finally found enough time to sit down with my girlfriend and write up all the menus and stuff.
For anyone who doesn't know what this box is, it's a live vocal processor, including 4 part harmony, hard tune, transducer, reverb, delay etc. It's full of menus, but the menus don't wrap, so it's completely accessible out of the box. I've been using it for a couple of days just using this document as a guide, and I've got pretty much everything done. Anyways, if you don't have one, go out and buy one, because they're awesome, and here's a document with all the menus and controls, as well as the I/O written up: TC Helicon Voice Live 2: @ buttons, left to right, row format. Tone (Hold to edit) Pitch (Hold to edit) Guitar FX (Hold to edit) Home Setup Wizard Store Edit @ Toe Switches (Left to right): Top Row: Preset (up) Shortcut UMod Delay Reverb (hold for Mic gain) Bottom Row: Preset (down) Step Harmony Double FX (hold for Tuner) @ I/O These entries go from right to left, and in cases where there are sockets arranged vertically, the bottom one is listed first. Mic Input Line Input Guitar In Guitar Through Stereo in Headphones out Ground Lift (The small button) XLR right XLR Left (Dry, presumably mono) Output Right Output Left (Presumably dry, presumably mono) Digital Out Digital In Expression Pedal MIDI Through MIDI Out MIDI In USB Power Power switch @ Menus: The following will be split up in what I hope is an intuative way. >> Menu: The button you press to access the menu, for example setup, edit, tone >> (needs to be held), and guitar tone (needs to be held). [n] << Thing[ (notes)]: This Is the name of the heading in the menu, optionally followed by a brief list of row catigories, which I hope will make it easier to memorise the miriad of settings available. It is preceded with an index number, so you know where you are in the headings order. #: This is a number to help you rememver which row you're on. You start at row 1, so 1 twist of the big knob (top right of the Voice Live 2), will put you on Row 2. Below this, is 4 lines of text. These respectively tell you what each knob changes. If a line is repeated, it means that the knob has a blank above it, which means it inherits the setting from the previous knob. For example: Style Style Level Width Means that the second knob is blank, but it inherits the style parameter from the first knob. Knobs 3 and 4 are Level and Width respectively. Lead Level Lead Level Lead Level Lead Level Means that all four knobs change the level, but in reality, only the first knob is labeled. One point of confusion we found when writing up this document is found in the edit menu. When you change the style parameter (the first and second knob on the first row of each heading), All the parameters change. If you can see the parameters as they change, or you have some other way of detecting the alterations which occur, it's because Style is actually a funny word for Preset, which is the more commonly used term to describe a group of settings, which apply a whole range of changes to the available configuration. Massive thanks for this document go to Becky Keir, my wonderful girlfriend, without whom this document would not have been possible. It is worth noting, that some of the options may be spelled wrong, because Becky's sight isn't great, and she was reading the menus blown up on a close circuit television, and the blocky nature of the writing, made it hard for her to distinguish the difference between certain letters, for example, p's and f's, a's and d's. So, if some things are spelled right, please correct me via email (chris.norm...@googlemail.com), but try not to be too critical! :-) And now, for the menus: >> Edit (Bottom right on the group of 8 When switching to a preset, you're automatically dropped into it on the first step. It is worth noting also that steps must be saved individually. So, if you create a new step, you'll have to press store twice to store it, when it's selected in the display. When you hold it, a menu with 2 items comes up. Press the step button again, to copy the settings from the current step to a new setp, which I think is inserted. Press the Shortcut button (located above the step button), to delete the current step. No confirmation is needed. > Store button: The store button when pressed brings up a list of the presets I believe, with the current location highlighted. You can use the big knob, the preset up and down pedals, or the buttons below the big knob to select the place to store the preset, then press store again. So, to save the current preset in it's current slot, just press the store button twice. I tend to press it twice with say half a second to a second's gap between presses, although I'm not sure if that's necessary or not. -- Take care, Chris Norman. <!-- chris.norm...@googlemail.com --> -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Pro Tools Accessibility" group.
