2011-07-21 Thread Jean-Philippe Rykiel
Hi ProTools experts, after my first ProTools launch, I was warned that a new update was available. I installed it to but I don't know where to look for release notes. Does anyone know if it solve the osx 10 point six point eight issue? Thanks for your help, JPR http://www.facebook.com/jprykiel

There's a readme file. If you can't find it, go to the support section of the website and download it from there. It should tell you everything you need to know. On 7/21/2011 8:40 AM, Jean-Philippe Rykiel wrote: /Hi ProTools experts, after my first ProTools launch, I was warned that a new

Hello J P 9.0.3 does not fix the problems with 10.6.8. It looks like some people are having success running 10.6.8 with pro tools. The hd core card drivers seem to be the real trouble spot. That said I don't recommend moving to 10.6.8 until it's all sorted out. Let's hope Avid certify it

Hi Jean-Philippe, To your other question: officially Avid has yet to conclusively determine weather the latest version of Pro Tools works on Mac OS 10.6.7 or 8. However, an Avid Technical Support Agent tells me that customers claim that PT 9.0.3 seems to work perfectly fine on the latest

Does any one have any idea for when Lion will become usable? I mean is it a matter of just waiting until they patch things or are we talking about a longer wait. I am looking at buying a Mac right now and if it is only going to be a matter of months before the issue is resolved then I can wait,

It won't be a year but it may be a couple of months. The best thing to do is to keep an eye on Avid's site for information about compatibility. You can sign up for their email list which will inform you of such developments. Slau On Jul 21, 2011, at 12:16 PM, Jake wrote: Does any one have

Hi Diego and welcome to the list. There's usually no such thing as a stupid question. Be aware, however, that there are reasonable questions and unreasonable questions. for example, if you ask, How do I rename a track? There's a very simple answer that can be given quite easily. Now, if you

I can't easily explain software compatibility here. Suffice it to say that you should follow the developers' guidelines for software versions and operating system versions to make sure you're not going to run into problems. Pro Tools is compatible with OS X 10.6.7 until further notice—simply

Hello: Yeah, I got an email from my sales guy at Sweetwater and he is adamantly advising against upgrading to Lion for all his customers. Not only is it not compatible with pro tools, but a lot of hardware won’t work either. Apparently this is a significant upgrade under the hood. It will

Out of interest, has anybody ever run Pt in a version of an OS hosted on an external drive. My thinking was that I could upgrade the internal to Lion and reap the rewards of general usage, then boot into 10.6.7 on an external drive when it's time to do PT sessions. Supposing that can work, would I
