Steve,
The chapters on MIDI in the Pro Tools Reference Guide will go a long way to
explaining what needs to be done. I'll just say that, if you haven't already
done so, you'll need to install the USB driver for your keyboard.

Here's what I did: I looked at the manufacturer's web site to see if there was
a Mac OS X driver for the keyboard and, boom, there it was. What clued me in
was mention in the keyboard user manual that there was a driver so maybe that
would be the way to go.

I'd love to know how you're saving a session as a .mid file. I've always

Hey Steve, once you have the drivers installed then just create an instrument
track, arm it, put expand on the insert track and your good to go. You can
change the instrument banks under the presets for expand just like you would
for any other plug in.

Hi, I was using the export to midi option I believe it was called but
like I said the midi files when they played back sounded completely
different then they did in pro tools so not sure what is going on
there. Nick Gawronski

i do have one question. If i record a drum track with a couple of drums in it,
say kick and snare, and maybe hats, is there a way of splitting it out in to
individual tracks afterwards. or do i have to record each drum sound separately
