GarageBand doesn’t require any special interfaces. If an audio interface is
core audio compatible which basically means if it supports working on the Mac
it will work in garage band. Same with midi controllers. GarageBand is great
about detecting any connected midi device and usually all you
TB1 & TB 2 plugs are the same. TB3 & USB- C plugs are the same. However be
aware that while TB3 and USB-C share the same physical plug, unless a port
specifically says it supports TB3 its just a USB-C port. I believe currently
in the apple eco system, the single port MacBook is the sole USB-C
