2 questions about Mac Screen reader

I am a PC user just dipping my toe in to the world of Mac. As such I have 2 fairly general questions. First how important is the numpad? On Windows the Screen Readers are heavily tied to the numpad for functions like navigation, I was wondering if this was true of Macs. The other question is

Hi Jake, The main reason for having the num pad is not so much for the screen reader as it is to be able to access certain very important Pro Tools shortcuts. That said, without the keypad, it's not possible to access the Main Counter, Start field, End field, Length field, etc. A num pad is
