Re: Accessible loudness plug-ins

2015-04-17 Thread Scott Chesworth
I don't know of anything that's accessible for these types of tasks
yet, and it's troubling. Wonder whether we'd have more luck looking
for a function that analyzes audio offline and puts out the
statistics? Less efficient than realtime metering probably, but I
think we'd stand more of a chance of asking for accessibility work to
be done if it needed to be.

Interesting topic. Hope someone knows enough about it to provide us
all with a nudge in the right direction.

To get track or song louder, or perceived loudness.

That is a process in itself.
How ever, there is some cool plugins like saturation nob, decapator, and air
enhancer just to name a few.
Hopefully this helps.
I would also check youtube to see exactlly what these plugins actually do.

Re: Accessible loudness plug-ins

just to add, if you decide to investigate l 3 further. there are two plugs in
the set.
it’s called the waves l 3 multi maxamizer.
in there you have the multi maxamizer, and the ultra maxamizer.
the multi maximiser, allows you to use multi band compression to fix up things
in the mix, while maxamizing the level. I have not used this much.
I mainly use l3 ultra maximiser, athis is used for maxamizing the levels of the
entire mix. I use it on most things in the final mastering stages of projects.
I’ve used it for broadcast work as well. I must admit, if you use it carefully,
you can get loads of gain, and things sound tite. as far as the parameters go,
i just the treshold control depending on just how loud i need the file to be.
I have not touched multi maxamizer at all on the mac as yet. But i intend to
try it out in p t soon.

I assumption her is they are looking for metering plug ins to measure loudness
levels, not compressors or tools to push up loudness. When delivering for
broadcast there are certain strict standards of loudness you need to meet now.

things in the mix, while maxamizing the level. I have not used this much.
I mainly use l3 ultra maximiser, athis is used for maxamizing the levels of
the entire mix. I use it on most things in the final mastering stages of
projects. I’ve used it for broadcast work as well. I must admit, if you use
it carefully, you can get loads of gain, and things sound tite. as far as the
parameters go, i just the treshold control depending on just how loud i need
 the file to be.
I have not touched multi maxamizer at all on the mac as yet. But i intend to
try it out in p t soon.

i’ve noticed that the parameters are not accessible in this way. but all the

Having said that, all the parameters should be accessible in p t.
if you insert it over a master fader.

 Hi all
Are there anyone who are using or have tried any loudness plug-ins and
found accessible ones? From what I understand most loudness plug-ins are
very visual to offer users a quick overview of what's happening with their
sound and we will probably not be able to use half of the functionality of
some of these type plug-ins, but it will be very handy even if only basic
functions is accessible. There's a good chance that I will start doing some
braudcast stuff in the next month or 2, so I'll have to start looking in to
 it.
