Yes indeed.  Changing that will allow access to the folder on Windows.  Down to 
Slau or Vinny to fix that :-)

My suspicion that it's because all MacOS, Android, and iOS are Linux based.

Just speculating, but that particular folder must have either some 
character in its name not permitted in Windows, or properties that are 
not allowed in Windows.

category.
