Re: My home studio should I buy more before I can begin
Helo Slau Thanks a lot for your work with Avid or ProTools to get a more accessible ProTools on the Mac. I use my Mac all the day, and there is more or more tasks, I do on my mac. Thanks a lot for your answer, I will begin to use and learn it, and see about a have to buy a surface, my setup is very compact, so if I will buy a surface, I have to find a smaller one. Have a good day. Best regards Jørgen > On 19 Jul 2017, at 23.44, Slau Halatyn <slauhala...@gmail.com> wrote: > > While it's possible to use Pro Tools without a surface, it's not very > efficient. Re: My home studio should I buy more before I can begin
While it's possible to use Pro Tools without a surface, it's not very efficient. Especially in the area of mixing and automation, without a surface, it's either very tedious or impossible to perform certain tasks. There's no simple answer as to whether you should use a control surface. If you're working alone, it's an entirely different story than if you're working with clients. Each user's requirements and resources are going to be unique. If you have doubts, don't get one for now but you'll eventually see that it's much more versatile and efficient and, when the time is right, you'll get a surface. > On Jul 19, 2017, at 5:02 PM, Jørgen Skov Nielsen <jnoe...@gmail.com> wrote: > > Hello again > > I have read about a surface or a digital mixer for my recording gear, but I > don’t want to buy more gear than I should use, I have my setup in my living > room. :) > Therefor i want to know something about recording with a surface and or is it > possible to use ProTools without a surface for a blind user. > Best regards > Jørgen > > On 18 Jul 2017, at 13.14, Jørgen Skov Nielsen <jnoe...@gmail.com> wrote: >> >> Hi List >> I am blind, and I have played keyboard for more than 30 years, I want to >> record some music, therefor I have build a home studio for my recording. >> >> I am a blind ProTools user, I use the newest version of ProTools with my >> soundcard a UAUDIO Apollo 8 Quad soundcard with a extra ADAT preamp so I >> can have all my devices setup at the same time. >> >> I use a Vocalist the Digitech live pro and my keyboard, a Yamaha tyros 5 >> and my Line 6 Variax Standard guitar together with my 3 microphones. >> I have also bought a lot of audio plugins for my soundcard, because it can >> use the effects on the soundcard with nothing latency.
