You can build a binary that has your stars built in.
This is a little tricky, but there is some documentation at:

I am linking user-defined stars using .ptkrc file (using permlink)
. With this, it takes long time to start the process when I can open facets,
etc. Is there any way to speed up this phase ? I will appreciate your respo
