I did this morning a local installation of jdk 1.6, and using it instead of the standard one all works fine. It seems to be some incompatibility between some gtk 2 themes and ptolemy 7.0.1 ; the above message don't appear with the Red Hat Linux default theme. This didn't happen at all with my previous version of Ptolemy (5.0.1). Yet another mysterious thing...
