I have been trying to get the Parent and Child node sync working but was
running into an issue where the sync would never complete forcing me to
cancel it. It wasn't until a cowker of mine erroneously had pulp_celerybeat
and pulp_resource_manager running on the Child that the Sync would
complete.
This beta contains a few bug fixes in platform and RPM plugin. The list can be
found here [0-1]. The packages are available at their regular location [2].

After recreating all of my repositories, I ran into the offset and metadata
errors again today. I can confirm the metadata error isn't generated due to
problems with upstream; the repository I last saw it on was local and during
publish.

pulp-A is connected to the internet, and downloads 583 repos.
pulp-B is disconnected from the rest of the world.
