Issue #23284 has been reported by Hugh Esco. ---------------------------------------- Bug #23284: log4perl / l4j style logging for Notify['resources'] https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/23284
* Author: Hugh Esco * Status: Unreviewed * Priority: Normal * Assignee: * Category: * Target version: * Affected Puppet version: * Keywords: * Branch: ---------------------------------------- As a feature request, for a Notify['resource'], I would also like a priority attribute with accepted values corresponding to the traditional log levels, so I can create a Notify resource during development, but suppress it except when the log level has been set to TRACE or DEBUG or whatever is appropriate. Support for an unless attribute on the Notify resource would be helpful for sending ERROR and DEBUG data to the console when appropriate, provioding better error handling. In addition, I would like a l4j or log4perl style log config file where I can set an appropriate log level for each class in my manifest without having to edit the manifests themselves and without having to turn on DEBUG level noise makers throughout the catalogue. Has any though been given to such a mechanism already? -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
