We have a known race condition (that the periodic GC is intended to clean up) where an orphan is created when two nodes have the same fact_value for the same fact, and update the value at the exact same time. Under normal conditions this is rare, but I think in your case it's happening more runs than not, since you have about 109 runs per minute that need to fit into 60 unique timestamps. If your fact was accurate down to the millisecond, I think this would happen infrequently enough that the GC could handle it easily. This new feature would improve matters dramatically for us poor RHEL users. Note that I am currently writing a little 'ruby193::gem' definition just to work around this problem locally. My user/groups setup (which is what I was really working with) does not really give me what I want anyway so I'll give it more work and get rid of tag collection altogether I now see they are not stable enough to be realied upon. I think we all need to take a good look at tags as the current implementation and lack of agreed standard is a recipe for tags getting so widespread they cease to be of use for collecting and for strings == should mean ==, never contains. overloading == to be contains when the RHS is say IP and LHS is IP range makes som sense, but for strings is wrong How do I flag that up? What we are planning on doing, now that future parser is released, is to start working on the compiler and catalog - we have an Epic with the project name Biff the Catalog Builder which ultimately also is about tags (but much more before we get to that) - as we are planning on changing the catalog to allow restating / merging resources the current way tags are assigned will be even more strange and needs to change (not to mention that they bloat catalogs with lots of redundant and quite useless information). There will be some time before this is done though... I am going to close this ticket with a Won't fix. I am glad you found a solution that works for you for now.
