 The facter gemspec is pinned to ruby 2.1.7 which is causing gem installation errors.   https://github.com/puppetlabs/facter/blob/master/lib/gemspec.in#L19

 facter-3.11.8 requires ruby version ~> 2.1.7, which is incompatible with the current version, ruby 2.4.5p335

    Steps to reproduce:

Install the puppet-agent  (any version will work)
Install pdk the gem (/opt/puppetlabs/puppet/bin/gem install pdk)
Create a new module using the pdk (pdk new module test)
cd test && pdk unit test
 The failure should occur as it tries to load the facter gem using the specification.    Workaround Remove the patch version from the 2.1.7 in the gemspec for post install issues

 Gem::Specification.new do |s|

Change By:

Release Notes Summary:
 If the private key password file (Puppet[:passfile]) exists and the agent doesn't yet have a private key, it will generate a new one, and use the contents of the passfile to encrypt the private key on disk. The key will be encrypted using AES-128-CBC. If the agent already has an unencrypted private key, then no changes will occur. Puppetserver does not currently support private key passwords, so this should only be enabled on agent-only nodes.

  Re: Document our own modules with Puppet Strings

 Davin Hanlon Are there still any plans for the content teams to adopt puppet-strings in more modules? (I hope so! Please let PDE know if there are functional blockers to that work in puppet-strings.) If so, does it make sense for the unresolved tickets in the epic to move into the MODULES project or similar? We'd like to make the PDOC project focused specifically on puppet-strings features, bugs, etc.

 https://github.com/puppetlabs/puppet-strings/pull/157 added basic support for the "@api private" tag to the Puppet code objects in puppet-strings and updated the markdown rendering templates to be aware of private code objects. However the HTML templates have not been updated accordingly, we should update those templates so that the generated HTML documentation indicates which Puppet code objects are private versus public.

 We should have documentation that is easy to find which enumerates YAML plan practices and constructs that don't translate to Puppet plans. We may also want to raise a warning to the user when we detect these constructs in their YAML plan when converting.

 Converting YAML code blocks to a Puppet plan is tricky. We can wrap the block in

 with() { ... }

 , but that creates hard to read code that doesn't follow Puppet plan best practices. We should decide how we want to handle YAML code blocks when converting.

 2 ideas for documentation that's been asked for frequently:1. Common issues and how to debug them - this came up when someone was getting a "bolt can't find that task" error, and mentioned we should record common things to try when you encounter this error. a. Bolt can't find a taskb. can’t find gem bolt (>= 0.a) with executable bolt (Gem::GemNotFoundException) 2. A Bolt best practices doc. It might be too early in Bolt development to start this, but a document like https://docs.ansible.com/ansible/latest/user_guide/playbooks_best_practices.html that links to other docmentation in Bolt would be useful. For example, we get the question of how to structure a project directory pretty frequently. We might need to think about improving SEO in that case, or linking to the project directory page from a 'Best Practices' page.

 The facter module fails to parse entries from `ip show route` if the line has an even number of words but is not preceded with one of the known route types. The restriction to have an even number of words was added as part of FACT-1282 however its not clear from the bug report or the pull request why routes preceded with a route type should have an even number of words however normal entries don't. It seems that an assumption was made which assumed all entries emitted by `ip show route` are key value pairs however this is not the case as show by FACT-1394 and my current case which has an entry as follows (notice the option `mtu lock 1450`) 192.168.250.22 via 192.168.1.1 dev enx0050b6a21be3 mtu lock 1450 We are also tracking this issue via https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T222356
