Title: Message Title Rob Reynolds commented on PUP-1577 Re: Manage user passwords on Windows without passing clear-text passwords in manifests/catalogs/reports Alexander Fortin - right now you want to use Hiera or Blackbox as a way to keep from disclosing sensitive data. I believe some of the folders in reference may be locked down to admins (but I could be wrong on that). It doesn't appear that reports is locked down from read. c:\ProgramData\PuppetLabs\puppet\var\client_data is locked down though: client_data BUILTIN\Administrators:(F) NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM:(RX) Everyone:(Rc,S,RA) CREATOR OWNER:(CI)(IO)(F) CREATOR GROUP:(CI)(IO)(RX) CREATOR OWNER:(OI)(IO)(R,W,D,WDAC,WO,DC) CREATOR GROUP:(OI)(IO)(R)

Title: Message Title Alexander Fortin commented on PUP-1577 Re: Manage user passwords on Windows without passing clear-text passwords in manifests/catalogs/reports Hi folks, what's the advised way to deal with this data disclosure here? Is it possible at least to disable storing data (i.e. catalogs / reports / summaries etc) on client side? I'm reading the configuration reference but I can't find anything on how to disable client_datadir for example Add Comment This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.3.10#6340-sha1:7ea293a) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Bugs" group.
