Title: Message Title Josh Cooper commented on PUP-8462 Re: Including `:boolean => true` in a type parameter definition should automatically populate the values a user is allowed to specify for that parameter I think the preferred way to specify a Boolean property is to set: newparam(:myparam, :parent => Puppet::Parameter::Boolean) do ... end That said you may have to specify :boolean => true for other reasons... Would be good to understand/document the preferred mechanism for setting parameters. Title: Message Title Melissa Stone commented on PUP-8462 Re: Including `:boolean => true` in a type parameter definition should automatically populate the values a user is allowed to specify for that parameter As a part of this, we should also move all the boolean parameters that rely on symbols rather than true and false to not use symbols. That was a workaround for PUP-8442, and should no longer be necessary. Jira (PUP-8462) Including `:boolean => true` in a type parameter definition should automatically populate the values a user is allowed to specify for that parameter
Title: Message Title Melissa Stone created an issue Puppet / PUP-8462 Including `:boolean => true` in a type parameter definition should automatically populate the values a user is allowed to specify for that parameter Issue Type: Task Assignee: Unassigned Created: 2018/02/13 11:24 AM Priority: Normal Reporter: Melissa Stone When defining a parameter for a type, we have the ability to pass in an additional argument to define if this parameter is a boolean or not. The only extra thing this gets us is an automatic method to check the truthiness of the parameter, i.e., a method called myparam?. We have to manually define which parameters are valid with newvalues(:true, :false). These should be automatically populated simply by specifying :boolean => true in the parameter definition Add Comment
