Just for some context, the goal of providing facter3 as a gem is primarily so
that the testing/tooling ecosystem that relies on running puppet+facter from
bundles/source can test against a modern version of Facter... Thanks for

Prior to the release of facter 3.11.0 next week, we have published
pre-release gems of facter 3.11.0 (native facter gems) to the cfacter
namespace.
You can now:
gem install cfacter --pre
to get facter 3 as a gem. there are precompiled binaries available for
Linux, MacOS, and Windo
