Well, actually it is. In Debian Jessie by default the ssh server do not
allow root login via ssh with a password so you need temporarily to
changes this setting and restart openssh-server.

I have no keyboard or screen on these servers.

Apparently, if I read the posts on the forum right, the 3.10 kernels do not
have this problem.
At any rate: is there a list of things known to work / not work with the latest
3.10 kernel? E.g. ceph, etc...
