Did you try to remove: -boot menu=on,strict=on,reboot-timeout=1000 For me it fixes the problem with qemu 2.4. I have the same problem with VGA passthrough: doesn't work for any VM. For me removing of: -boot menu=on,strict=on,reboot-timeout=1000 fixes the boot problem. Latest upgrade has broken KVM. As this affects both the 4.1 and 3.19 kernels it must be something else. See screenshot. If I disable KVM VM's starts.
