So your user name is "JaraKaca"? No problem, you should now have access.

You cracked it! I pressed the "Forgot password" link, and it sent me the
link for that, along with my username which was apparently
"ChristerEnfors", and not "enfors", like I thought (very strange - I
*always* use "enfors" unless it's taken and it very rarely is).

So now I can log in, but it seems that I now need to have "ChristerEnfors"
added to the list of people who can edit LocalUserGroups (at least, I see
no edit button). I previously asked to have "enfors" added to that list,
but that did no good for obvious reason... :-/ Sorry to be such a hassle!

Re: [pydotorg-www] Logins on wiki.python.org don't seem to be working

2019-01-03 Thread M.-A. Lemburg
Strange, it's working fine for me.

I do see high load on apache (lots of people using
full text search, trying to setup new accounts, etc.):

30578 moin 20 0 520m 68m 5168 S 102 0.9 0:17.83 apache2
31412 moin 20 0 584m 136m 5196 S 100 1.7 0:13.18 apache2
31103 moin 20 0 520m 36m 5152 S8 0.5 0:03.32 apache2
30635 moin 20 0 522m 94m 5188 S7 1.2 0:12.09 apache2

and there are entries in the error file:

[Thu Jan 03 19:09:22 2019] [error] 2019-01-03 19:09:22,176 WARNING
MoinMoin.util.abuse: 37 : auth/login (moin): status failure: username
"enfors": ip 94.234.47.95: page None

Are you perhaps using the wrong password ?

Thanks.

Sorry, I don't mean to hassle you, but it still seems to be down - I still
can't login on wiki.python.org. Can anything further be done? Anyone I
should contact?

Re: [pydotorg-www] Logins on wiki.python.org don't seem to be working

2019-01-02 Thread Steve Holden
Thanks Marc-André,

It seems to me that the Wiki is in need of some tender loving care. Given
the outdated nature of Moin's design, I'm wondering what might be the best
way t bring it up to date. Does anyone have specific knowledge in this area?

regards
Steve Holden

2019-01-02 Thread M.-A. Lemburg
I have restarted apache on the VM. I guess we will need a cleanup
of the users on the moin instance. The 144k users together with the
underpowered VM and frequent spikes in activity by bots trying to
register accounts are causing those delays.

Re: [pydotorg-www] Logins on wiki.python.org don't seem to be working

2019-01-01 Thread Christer Enfors
Well, I've probably been trying between 10 and 20 times today without
succeeding. So I'm pretty sure that something needs to be done. I've
created a local Python user group, and I'd like to "formalize" it by adding
it to the wiki.

Gott nytt år!

The timeout seems to be occurring a lot. so we do "know about it", I'm
not sure anyone was yet convinced it wasn't just transient busy-ness.

I think this is evidence there is something that does need attention.
