Hi,
with -alpha3 being released and -alpha4 in the queue, I just wanted to
post a short update about the current pgreloaded status, what to expect
in the next alpha4 release (end of February / mid of March, if there's
no show stopper) and what's left to do, before a switch from alpha to rc
can be
Actually, despite the slightly lower activity recently, I've found this
forum to be active and helpful and was quite surprised at the initial
complaint in the thread. I think the pygame developers and community do
a great job given that it's a completely volunteer effort.
Thanks guys!

Personally I think PyGame is a wonderful API for building any
sort of
complex animation that is secondary to pure 3D.
For example, building beautiful animated menus,

I think in this stressful economy people don't have time to write games in
their downtime, what little they have :)
pygame is a great library, I'm not sure what else they could work on except
adding the new SDL features to pygame.
The only other cool thing pygame could do was make a wrapper aroun

I think the "slowness" of PyGame development is simply due to the slowness
of SDL development. I think everyone's just waiting for 1.3 to mature, and
with it comes a lot of nice features. What is it you think the PyGame devs
should be working on with all haste? I've found the level of development i

complex animation that is secondary to pure 3D.
For example, building beautiful animated menus, or sub-games, or simply
handling I/O, it fits like a glove.

Sorry for the attention-starving subject - but I think this is an
important question to ask from time to time..
Judging by the low frequency of discussions on this list, I find at
least one of the following statements trueish:
1) pygame is dying (no active development)
2) this list is the wrong f
