RE: [PyMOL] Hardware Stereo OSX Tiger 10.4
I've had the same problem as well. I'm using a dual G5 with a Radeon 9800 Pro using the CrystalEyes system. I've also tried getting it work on several different systems running 10.4, and full screen stereo will not work on any of them. If I boot the G5 into 10.3.9, full screen stereo works fine. I can also run full screen stereo on the G5 running 10.4 using Nanasaur 2 (heck of a way to test full screen stereo!). I am running Mac OS X version 10.4.2 on a dual G5 system with an ATI Radeon 9650 graphics card and a Monitor Z-screen 2000i. I have been able to run the GLUTStereo demo from the apple site, so I believe the hardware is working correctly. http://developer.apple.com/samplecode/GLUTStereo/GLUTStereo.html Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks, Steve -- Stephen U. Re: [PyMOL] Re: macpymol beta 21 bug in 10.4.3?
I've given it a quick run on a new Powerbook with the ATI Radeon 9700 w/128 MB, and I can't reproduce the flicker. Same thing with a G5 with a 9800 with 256 MB. My dual G4 with a Radeon 9000 (128 MB) does show the flicker, however, and Jespers trick does the trick. No more flicker. I then booted into my back up clone which is at 10.4.2 and 99beta21 and 99beta25 work just fine. So the 64MB ATI cards look to be dodgy under 10.4.3 whilst the better spec ATI ones are OK. [PyMOL] using the build function
Hello everyone, I'm trying to build some model proteins for a diagram showing a protein unfolding over several steps. I'm using the build function in the 0.95beta10 release. The main problem is that I can't control the angle of the protein chain, so the chain just goes off in one direction only, unless proline is placed in the middle of a helix at which point it goes off at a new angle. This makes me think that it can be specified, but I just don't know how to do it. Any help would be appreciated, Dan
Re: [PyMOL] keynote and pymol
I've had the same experience as well. I've found that it works a little better in the newer version. It's not perfect, but my movies do look better than when I use Powerpoint. Re: [PyMOL] Pymol on MacMini: performances
Luca, I've been using a eMac with similar specs to the MacMini and it works fine. The only major change I see between the G5 in my lab and the eMac at home is the surface calculations and ray tracing. For what you want, my guess is it will be fine.
