Not weird -- delicious! Try doing it like this: Take a whole knob unpeeled dribble on some olive oil and black pepper and bake in a medium oven for 10-15 mins. Pull apart into individual cloves which are pressed to squirt the now soft (and much less pungent) garlic out.
