This problem can occur in other situations. For example, ZODB had the same error with this code: self._server.async https://github.com/zopefoundation/ZEO/issues/104 I think that finding modules called 'async.py' is a good subset to find invalid code with python 3.7, but patterns like: .async async() could find other ones. -- Stéphane
