TASK DESCRIPTION

BotPasswords require you to log in with usernames like COHBot@GAR.

When a password is pre-provided pywikibot handles this fine.

However if no password is fine then login.py calls check_user_exists() before asking you for the password and check_user_exists() does not deal with the BotPassword username.
