I'm trying to boot the Zeta LiveCD with QEMU. At
first I tried the default boot settings (in the guest OS). That got me
to the loading screen, but the boot process fails (when the
disks symbol is highlighted) with the message "PANIC: The boot loader
was unable to find a BeOS volume to boot from ...

is anyone here using Synergy (see synergy2.sf.net) to make the mouse go
smoothly from host to guest? At first glance, I'd say Synergy offers
much of the stuff that's necessary for easing the use of Qemu: it can
transport mouse and keyboard commands

Yes I think this would be useful because there are situations where
developers do not create universal binaries. This is most apparent
with the host of applications being ported to Mac OS X on Intel that
aren't compiled using GCC4 and are therefore Intel-only.
And also, it might help future-proof
