Hi,
  I'm finding that sometimes during make install the
po/ directory in the source directory gets changed:

in /home/dgilbert/try
$ make -j 12 && make install
....
make -C po install
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/dgilbert/try/po'
  GEN   tr.mo
  GEN   /home/dgilbert/git/qemu/po/de_DE.po
  GEN   de_DE.mo

  GEN   it.mo
  GEN   /home/dgilbert/git/qemu/po/hu.po
  GEN   hu.mo
  GEN   /home/dgilbert/git/qemu/po/fr_FR.po
  GEN   fr_FR.mo
for obj in tr.mo de_DE.mo it.mo hu.mo fr_FR.mo; do \
    base=`basename $obj .mo`; \
    install -d /home/dgilbert/try/share/locale/$base/LC_MESSAGES; \
    install -m644 $obj
/home/dgilbert/try/share/locale/$base/LC_MESSAGES/qemu.mo; \
done
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/dgilbert/try/po'

My git checkout is in /home/dgilbert/git/qemu and my build
dir is /home/dgilbert/try; this gently upsets git since it
now sees modified files.

Configured with:
/home/dgilbert/git/qemu/configure --disable-strip --target-list=x86_64-softmmu
--prefix=/home/dgilbert/try

This is in 2.1.0-rc5 but it's been happening for a while (F20 host);
I can't quite pin down when it happens, it doesn't happen every time,
but it's not just directly after rebases.

Dave (who knows nothing about po files)
