[Qgis-developer] Slow rendering of shapefile in python-qgis application

I build a custom app with python and qgis bindinds. When I'm opening a big shapefile (multipolygon) the rendering is very slow and the app freezes. I also check the same data as spatial layer but the problem still remains. Zoom and panning are also slow.Opening the same shapefile in qgis is

Hi I think that curved line support is not that important to most of the users. I really would like to see this feature in QGIS. But this is something that needs some funding and as far as I know some changes deep in the core. Something for QGIS 2.x I guess. regards Stefan
