I build a custom app with python and qgis bindinds. When I'm opening a big
shapefile (multipolygon) the rendering is very slow and the app freezes. I
also check the same data as spatial layer but the problem still remains.

Having spent some time recently answering question on forum I believe there is
no need to close it. Dynamic is good, people are polite,
questions aren't super precise, but valid. I should say I like
answering there much more then on ML :)

I spend more time on the forum than in ML. And there are people more
familiar with the format of the forum.

- let's make easy to join it I've suscribed to the forum today and it
was painfull as the registration code is extremely difficult to read (I
took me 10 attempt and the anti bot question hard to reply when you

I think that curved line support is not that important to most of the
users. I really would like to see this feature in QGIS. But this is
something that needs some funding and as far as I know some changes deep
in the core. Something for QGIS 2.x I guess.

Sorry, I think i haven't explained well what I want.
I know how to get my fields' lengths from SpatiaLite.
Here is what I've already done:
1/ create QgsvectorLayer from spatiaLite table : vlayer
2/ strore field's length in a python list: lengths
One of my text fields (FIELD1) have 300
here my weekly report, we almost have an arm port I hope :)
