Hi Chris, thanks for your feedback. I start thinking using a spatialite is a
great idea. I prefer this than having rules to mask FID field. This can
generate very hard-to-find bugs..
Having a complex Qgs zipfile containing either a spatialite DB or xml + data
would be great but is a big
Hi all, I probably missed something , but I would like to access to QGIS 1.8
API doc.
http://qgis.org/api/ only gives Master version.
Does it exist? If so, could we put links in API site main page?

I would like to have your opinions on a proposal. We would like to modify

The behaviour of those two equivalent tools differs:

Hi,
In the context of the recent discussions around the hotlink plugin:
Wouldn't it be fun if HTML would be supported in QGIS maptips and they
would be displayed with a Webkit instance?
That way we could display images located on the web in the maptips and
we could also include little
That would be a very cool feature. If I had the time I would have a

Thanks for this guys,
I may be wrong in my analyse, please tell me.
A bit of context. We are trying to use Qgis for two usages:
1- classical Desktop GIS for trained users: no worries, actual beahaviour
is way beyond Mapinfo or Arcmap.
2- simplified viewer for beginners and our decision
That would be nice!
Just add the ability to click inside that maptip (but how?) and we have
something like OpenLayers / GMap /Gearth with vector features..
Sounds great..

Would it be best as a standalone, with qwt, or python with matplotlib?
Easiest short-term would be to port the plotting to matplotlib.
Also, is the raster interface going to change enough to break this plugin?

I agree that interaction with actions (sorry for the wordplay) should be
revised. Keeping the actions as an expandable node inside the identify
window makes them harder to find and, I feel, it generates to much
indirections.
I think that an action tool (something kike the cited thunder icons shown

IMHO this tool is worth to be integrated as a core plugin. But I know

agreed; it does not need to be ported to C++ to become a core plugin.

Not for now ! This would be nice but let's keep it for next year.
having a coherent Hotlink plugin with native tool was my immediate goal.
We have some more urgent priorities like expressions for thematic mapping,
supporting labling new generation to remove the old one from layer
