Hello,
There is also some work on a QGIS project for visualisation with postgis view.
I don't know if this is the same work as Michael talked about.
This is funny because I am working on this project also for one customer, not
on QGIS side anyway for the moment.

Hi Paolo,
Indeed it will be available : the project itself is opensource, and my
improvements will of course be open-source too.
We will also need to localize the layers fields aliases and comments.
Perhaps will you agree to help in this area ?
Cheers,
Michaël

Great, thanks. Will this be available?
All the best.

Hi Paolo,
I am indeed worrking with a client on improving a project done here in
France which is called grace-thd.

They have made a great job on creating a data model with real-case need.
This model is approved by french standardisation organization for
Andreas,
I though that you can edit the request of your virtual layer. In the drop down
list you c an choose the one to change.
Am I wrong?

Andreas,
In the layer toolbar, after the "Add a delimited text Layer" icon you have the
"Add a virtual layer" tools. In the panel you can choose a virtual layer name.
If you create two virtual layer, when you come back to this windows, the
dropdown list will show you the two layers that you
Hi all,
is anybody aware of an application of QGIS to the planning, design, and
management of optical fibre networks?
I have find this:
http://www.comsof.com/blog/planning-fttx-networks-with-qgis
which appears to have a QGIS plugin to manage an external program.
Anybody knows more?
All the best,

Hi Yves,
Thanks for your reply. What drop down list are you talking about? In
what menu/dialogue/context menu?

Hi,
I am experimenting with the virtual layers. They are quite cool!
I have some suggesions/questions:
* It would be nice to have a preview of my query results. Currently it
is either it works - or not. If it works, but the results are wrong you
have to start from scratch. I would
Hi all,
I noticed that we have troubles while copying from 2d layers to 3d layers.
While investigating, I realize that we have new geometry classes that
are not yet used here.
I thought I would update the code to use new classes, but it appears
that some functionnality covered in old

Hi,
This is interesting.
But I am pretty sure the possible gain in speed greatly depends on
multiple other factors. In some scenarios, computing deltas in geometry
coordinates may take time compared to a direct access to numbers
represented by raw doubles.
That would be an interesting addition
Hi,
I am the author of this feature. So, sorry for the lack of reaction :/

Hi guys, QgsGeos class wraps the QgsGeometryEngine interface of a
QgsAbstractGeometryV2 geometry. It is used massively for many spatial functions
(IsGeosValid, contains, crosses, intersects) in QgsGeometry. But testing
perfomance I see that all operations create in QgsGeos a new GEOSGeometry
Hi Nicklas,
This is indeed a great idea, and will go on further on the step already
done here [1] with PostGIS 2.2 backend. QGIS 2.14 now uses
ST_RemoveRepeatedPoints as described by one of the optimisations we can use
with PostGIS
As you said, we could only use this format for rendering
Hallo all
I have seen this question raised before some time ago on QGIS list.
That made me glad :-)
But I think maybe time is more right now, since twkb is suppoerted in a
released PostGIS version.
For anyone not knowing what twkb is:
TWKB is a geometry format with similarities to wkb, but uses
