Oddly if I left click on the mouse the pan cursor comes back. Seems like a
refresh issue, but I refreshed the map an that did not work. Oddly I also only
have this issue if drawing a polygon. If I draw a point of line, no issue.

Hard to tell where the issue is without a minimal reproducible code
example...
Best always use the "with edit():" context instead of manually fiddling
around with startEditing/commitChanges.
And if you use functions that return success codes, make sure you check
them.
